Family is fundamental. At the same time, no one chooses it. Is this oldest social unit of any interest to contemporary audiences? The Summer Film School continues to collaborate with film schools to explore the theme from the perspective of the younger generation. This year’s edition is so universal that it relates to everyone. Family, or its absence, shapes us more than we admit. Our childhood experiences shape the rest of our entire lives. Six distinctive films will offer different perspectives on this topic. The FRSH section will transform into an unforgettable family gathering.
Programmers:
Silvie Suchnová,is the SFS marketing director who doesn’t usually get involved in the programming, but she often comes up with ideas that work. She likes fresh things, and film in particular. And she loves bringing things together (people, opinions, different worlds), and the FRSH section should serve as proof of this.
Kristina Roháčková is a professional film viewer and publicist of Czech Radio. She is a product of 1990s romantic comedies with Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts, Lorelai Gilmore’s verbal cadence and journalism studies at Charles University. She regularly spends her vacations at film festivals.
Jan Jílek, is the Summer Film School programming director who was brought up on Jean-Claude Van Damme and Iva Hejlíčková’s articles for Cinema magazine. He graduated at Palacký University in Olomouc and ran a film club in Hradec Králové. During his 19-year career at the SFS (yes, he started very young), he was behind so many sections and so many guests that he became an expert on everything…
