The best of Czech and Slovak cinema from the past year. Films that have already toured major international festivals and won numerous awards, but also those that will be screened for the very first time. Film dramas (Father, Flood, Wirbel), comedies (Little Thief, Bohemian Paradise), documentaries (Public Space of František Skála), biographical or historical films (Franz, Nepela, Gregorius, The Chosen One), both art house pictures and mainstream ones (33 Steps, Five Plums).
Jaroslav Sedláček, a creative producer in Czech Television, programmer and great fan of Czech cinema. He’d written about film for a long time until he started making it. He loves biking, swimming, soft side light and films that can change a viewer (at least for a moment).
