FRSH: The Body

This new fresh programme section full of lit films is primarily intended for our young festival audience. Its programmers will collaborate with Czech students of film studies and showcase a dynamic and inspiring selection of films on a particular topic. This year, they will focus on the body. The body as a medium of life, a vehicle for an immortal soul, a f(r)iend as well as marketable commodity, and a subject of cinematic interest. Every/body’s welcome.

Programmers:

Jan Jílek is the SFS Programming Director who was brought up on Jean-Claude Van Damme and Iva Hejlíčková’s articles written for the Cinema magazine. He graduated at Palacký University in Olomouc and ran a film club in Hradec Králové. During his 18-year SFS career (yes, he started very young), he managed so many programme sections and guests that he became an expert on everything.

Kristina Roháčková is a professional film viewer and publicist of Czech Radio. She is a product of 1990s romantic comedies with Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts, Lorelai Gilmore’s verbal cadence and journalism studies at Charles University. She regularly spends her vacations at film festivals.

Silvie Suchnová is the SFS Marketing Director who doesn’t usually participate in festival programming but occasionally comes up with worthy ideas. She loves fresh things and twice as much fresh films. She likes to connect people, opinions and different worlds which is greatly reflected in the nature of the new section.
