Dogma 95 was a joke in Danish film – until it became the most successful marketing tool the Danish film industry had ever seen. But it was also a reaction to a film business with a technology fetish and a dream of a freespirited and borderless films. The Dogme 95 selection presents 8 of the best and influential dogma films, including Thomas Vinterberg’s The Celebration, Lars von Trier's The Idiots, Søren Kragh-Jacobsen’s Mifune, Harmony Korine’s Julien Donkey-Boy and Lone Scherfig’s Italian for Beginners.
Per Juul Carlsen has been a film journalist and critic for the last 30 years, mainly on TV, radio and internet at the Danish Broadcasting Corporation.
