AFFN Presents: 1975

How was the 1975 in movie industry? What kinds of stories were narrated by filmmakers in different parts of the world? And how do these films mirror the global cinematic and social landscape? This section, which travels half a century into the past, is a joint effort of the festivals united in the Archive Film Festival Network (AFFN) – Summer Film School, Bergamo Film Meeting, FEMA La Rochelle and Midnight Sun FF in Sodankylä. The birth of the blockbuster, cinema of moral unrest, second wave of feminism, Australian New Wave, French crime… A manifold mosaic that surprisingly forms a compact picture.
