What if all you needed to make a short film was a pencil, paper and a good idea? In this workshop, you will follow the full journey from concept to storyboard to a finished animated film. Working in groups, you will create your own story, draw its key scenes and bring them to life with the help of artificial intelligence. The resulting sequences will then be edited into a short film.

The workshop will be led by Elfi De Vos from the Belgian organisation JEF. Rather than focusing on AI itself, participants will explore how this technology can become a playful creative tool within the filmmaking process. Through hands-on experimentation, they will discover new ways of turning ideas into moving images and experience how collaboration between human imagination and digital tools can spark unexpected results. The workshop also opens questions about how emerging technologies can support storytelling, creativity and audiovisual literacy and how educators can approach them thoughtfully while keeping play, imagination and critical thinking at the centre.
